Photo Over the past few days, Charlie Villanueva & Chris Bosh raced to 50K Twitter Followers. Chris Bosh won this morning, meaning Charlie now has to star in one of Bosh’s YouTube videos. Bosh is letting his “Twitter Army” decide which character Charlie plays.
This whole race was interesting to me because both guys were attempting to activate their fanbases in unique ways. What’s even more thought provoking now that it’s over is the fact that both of Charlie and Chris actually share 21,019 followers. 41% of Chris Bosh’s followers are also following Charlie. These fans didn’t pick a side, they chose to watch the conversation unravel.

Carrot Creative…Shortly after I moved to New York, I started frequenting the tech scene and I heard about them. A few months went by and I kept hearing more. Coincidentally, I was on the hunt for…

I started my new job at >carrot creative this week. Monday, I spent the day at an online video startup, where I’ll spend about 40% of my time each week. On Tuesday, I had my first day at the >carrot HQ.

I couldn’t be happier to join the team at >carrot - It feels right. Best part: I get to do what I love doing. There’s nothing better than that.

I’m very excited to say that today marks my first contribution to The 2.0 Life.  I’ll be writing there weekly about new online services, the social web, and embracing the digital lifestyle from here on out!

First post: “How Transparency, Life and Twitter Fit Together

The 2.0 Life

Photo I hate to brag, but I had to put this up. AdaptiveBlue is a company I’ve been getting to know over the past few months. They are the creators of Glue, which I made a video demo about a couple weeks ago.
I went out to coffee with Fraser (VP of Business Development) last weekend and he gave me a t-shirt.  He asked that I send the Glue crew a picture of me wearing it and challenged me to be creative.  I *hired* Ryan Craven as the photographer/creative consultant and here’s what we came up with:

My first attempt with a video demo. The victim? AdaptiveBlue’s Glue.

I’ve been on Glue for about 4 months now and have loved using it, but I’ve always wished more of my friends would give it a try. Last night, after hearing me talk about Glue for about the 50th time, a few friends started asking questions. They wanted to know how I benefited from using Glue. I hope this video helps someone who’s wondering that same thing - what Glue can do for them.

Last week, Tac Anderson did a video demo on how to post to Twitter using Diigo on his blog, New Comm Biz. I enjoyed watching his tutorial and learning about a service I’d never used before, and I was enlightened to the fact that onscreen demos are a great way to teach and share information. Teaching is one of my favorite things to do, so I thought I’d give it a try.

This is far from perfect, but it’s the first shot.  I’m hoping that I’ll get better as I do more of these. The goal: make it clear and valuable enough that whoever watches can quickly take what they’ve learned, apply it, and pay it forward.
