1 presentation down, 1 to go. We had our Invester Pitch & Presentation for my last Entrepreneurship class today. It went well, but we still got burned by the reviewers. Every group did, so I didn’t feel too bad. Overall it was just a great experience to go through the entire process of seeking out venture capital in order to start a business. According to our instructor (Dick Sloan, Undergrad Entrepreneurship Program Director), leaving the class we will have the tools that 90% of other people seeking venture capital won’t have. Sounds like a good deal to me!
Dick is also the instructor who saw my idea on IdeaBlob.com and encouraged me to submit it for the Innovation of the Year Award. (More info above). Last Wednesday, I found out I was chosen as a finalist for the competition. I had to write up a 5-page executive summary and turn it in last Friday. Got some good help with revisions on it, and I think it turned out pretty good. I’m really looking forward to Thursday… Winning would be a great way to cap off 4 years here. But either way, it’s just nice to be a finalist.
3 things now stand between me and graduation:
- Digital Imaging final photography project due this Thursday
- Sports Marketing presentation on Eugene Emeralds this Thursday
- Sports Marketing final next Thursday @ 8am
